Hello
Last week at the shop felt like the first week that was anything close to how the shop used to feel pre-lockdown. Obviously not having customers in the shop is still a big difference but we had three days when all of the MMB team were in the shop together and it was SO MUCH FUN. Well I say that, if you ask Jeff he may give you a different response. I think he secretly quite liked having the summer to himself at the shop without being surrounded by myself and Sally. But all good things come to an end I'm sure deep down, deep deep down, he was delighted to have us back signing to our 90s tunes.
And now I'm finally able to start catching up a bit I can start to focus on expanding our offering once again. The re-introduction of our cookies went down well last week, along with buns on Thursday and Friday. And this week we are going to do a big Fen Farm Dairy haul. Of course we will get a good stock of the beautiful Bungay Butter back in. We are also going to get some of the ever-popular Baron Bigod cheese and will offer a sourdough on Saturday to compliment this cheese. And, at last, I am pleased that we are finally getting some of their new Skyr yoghurt at MMB. You can read more about this natural, Icelandic yoghurt here but fair to say it's been a long time in the making, is handmade using the milk from the happy, Montbelliarde cows at Fen Farm Dairy in Suffolk and has absolutely no nasties added to it. They've also teamed up with England Preserves to also offer some layered Skyr using their artisanal fruit compotes including Gooseberry & Elderflower, Blackcurrant and Redcurrant, Rhubarb and Vanilla. Without knowing for sure what the demand will be for these I've kept the order small, so it'll be interesting to see how they go down. They will be available on Friday and Saturday, whilst stocks last.
Here is your offering at MMB this week:
Thursday
Pre-orders only, available to collect between 11am and 3pm.
You can order Walden Whites, Heritage Grains & Malted Wheat Flake Tins, Chocolate Babkas and Cinnamon Babkas. All of the above are limited in numbers so please get your orders in sooner rather than later to stand the best chance of bagging your wares. We will also be trialling a new sweet bun for those of you collecting bread...I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Please email me at info@minimiss.co.uk by 5pm on Wednesday if you'd like to place an order.
If we're lucky the dairy produce from Fen Farm Dairy may arrive in time to offer this also on Thursday.
Friday
Our usual free-for-all for walk ups. Open from 11am. We will have Walden Whites, Heritage Grain & Malted Wheat Flake Tins and Loaves, Rugbrød, Cinnamon Buns and Cookies. Think we might go with the Dark Rye & Espresso Cookies for Friday. Plus Fen Farm Dairy produce.
Saturday
Again, open from 11am. Our special this week will be Walnut & Fig Sourdough which pairs beautifully with the Baron Bigod Cheese. We will also have Walden Whites, Super Sours, a mix of both Heritage Grain and Malted Wheat Flake Tins and Loaves, White Tins, Rugbrøds, Babkas and Sourdough Cookies. And dairy produce from Fen Farm Dairy.
Deep breath. Busy week ahead.
Don't forget if you're part of our Soil to Sourdough project your Duchess Farms flour is now available to collect from MMB.
See you soon.
