A quick catch up

3rd June 2020

Hello everyone

How have you been? Have you had a chance to enjoy the sun? Who has started getting out and about more? I must admit that we are still feeling pretty nervous about it all. That virus is still out there, and so we are remaining cautious and staying at home as much as possible.

Of course Jeff is continuing to fly solo during the second half of each week down at the shop to ensure we have sourdough on offer on Saturdays. And this week, along with the usual Walden Whites, Super Sours and Rugbrøds we will have some tinned whites for all your toastie and fishfinger sandwich needs. And to mix things up a little, half of our Walden Whites will be made using the Stoneground White flour from Shipton Mill. These loaves were very popular when we had them on offer last time. They are made using 100% UK grown and milled organic flour and stoneground flour retains more of the goodness, nutrition and flavour than roller-milled flour. As more of the grain is left in the milled flour it has a light beige colour to it, so you could be forgiven for thinking it was a brown loaf. It's almost a halfway house - all the deliciousness of a white loaf but with some of the extra flavour and goodness you get in a brown. We hope you give it a try and enjoy it.

Jeff will be down at the shop on Saturday morning and the doors will be open from 11am. Please don't forget to stretch that queue out with social distancing so we can continue to open safely.

I'm going to sign off there as I'm going to write to you again very shortly about a Crowdfunder we are about to launch. I'm really excited about it and hope you will be able to get behind it and get involved. It's a win, win for everyone involved. I'll fill you in very soon. In the meantime if you're not entirely clued up on what crowdfunding is you can find some background reading here.

Until then...
